Glen Vista

Glen Vista Stud was founded in 1992 with the purchase of 5 Pinaroo cows from Bingara. Our first stud sire was Nungaroi Jaguar-a son of Yarrawonga United. Jaguar was purchase for his prominent breed character, tremendous temperament, frame 8+ and weight- weighing 1128 kg with a P/8 of 7/5 of fat at 36 months. Many of Jaguars daughters are still breeding in the stud and are true to type of their sire.

Throughout the 14 years since, purchases were made of quality breeders from stud dispersals along with stud sires such as Brookside Gasalina (P)-Graylyn B612 (P)-Big Sur Geronimo (P)- Marston 578(P)-GBL A68 and Glenview Z30 (P). The Glen Vista stud herd now stands at 120 classified breeders many of which are home grown and retained for their fertility, good udders and temperament.  In 1997 and through artificial insemination we bred a bull-Glen Vista Fantom by Yarrawonga Boss- that met all our criteria for the commercial breeder of today. Glen Vista Fantom went on to compete in the show ring winning Junior Champion Bull Sydney Royal 1999. Glen Vista Fantom is retained for stud where his superb carcase traits and heavy weight for age are carried down to his progeny. One of Fantoms notable breeding success's being Glen Vista Junior-top priced bull Rockhampton 2003.

We never stop being amazed by the intelligence and survival instincts of our Santa Gertrudis cattle to "Do" in severe drought conditions on as rugged a property as ours.
