Fishington Sire Profiles

Pinaroo Popeye

Popeye was purchased for $20,000 in 2001.  He is a well muscled bull (in top 8% for EMA), extremely long and excellent temperament. He has passed these qualities onto his progeny who have great constitutions and functionally efficient with his daughters are developing into good cows.  We have retained a number of sons for use in the Fishington commercial herd. Sons of note include Xavier X069 to AA Co $23,000, Yardan P & R Cupitt and Yuma second in class Brisbane 2005. He has a GeneSTAR results of Marbling 1, Tenderness 5, Feed Efficiency 6

Kelly Wallah Yamato

This the first progeny of a son of the great Kelly Wallah Frodo.  We are very pleased with the muscle and scale that Yamato is producing for us and he has developed into a trait leader for 200 day wt.  His first daughters joined to calve at 2 years went in calf well despite a difficult season.  We are extremely pleased with the temperament of Yamato's calves which are our slowest group in the flight speed test.

Rosevale Ned

Rosevale Ned (P) was selected for his blaanced growth, carcase and fertility traits.  He is producing large framed and volumed cattle with a good percentage polled.  He is passing on a very good coat type to his progeny.  We have selected two of his first poll sons to retain for our herds.

Fishington Zazu (PS)

Zazu is a large framed bull with a dark slick coat and massive testicles (trait leader for SS with EBV of +1.9).  We used him on heifers with great results.  His dam a very good going, large framed cow by Gyranda Undertake, is still producing well for us with all eligible calves classifying to date and all five heifers retained in the stud.

Wave Hill Z47 (P)

Z47 was purchased at the 2006 Santa Central Sale for $26,000.  He is a heavily muscled bull carrying good fat cover and an excellent soft short haired coat type.
