Glenn Oaks

Glenn Oaks 348 (Granny)

Glenn Oaks Miranda

Cutting Millet

Glenn Oaks was started when Scott Ferguson was the age of 10 years, using all Scott's hard earned pocket money to purchase females from Kabunga West and Bilukura Santa Gertrudis Studs.  The late Bruce Perrett was very generous and "looked after me well".

Glenn Oaks females have always been run in conjection with the Glenview Stud.  Early sires were mainly from King Ranch and Yarrawonga-Waco.  Further females have been added from 'Scotlea', 'Tara', Noralla, 'Kelly-Wallah' and Yarrawonga-Waco.

Our biggest success in the show ring came when Glenn Oaks Miranda was awarded Senior and Grand Champion female at Brisbane Exhibition 2004.  Miranda had already enjoyed success as a junior winning her class at the Golden Jubilee in Sydney.  She was also a claf at foot when her mother "Glenn Oaks Milly" won Reserve Senior Champion at the Brisbane Exhibition.  This has been a hugely successful female line starting with Glenn Oaks 348 her daughter Milly and then Miranda.  These 3 cows have been used in our ET program and 345 (aka Granny) and Miranda have just entered another program (18/05/09).

We have sold our first ET calves in the last 2 years and they have entered studs such as "Glenalbyn", "Yarrawonga-Waco" and "Glen Vista".

Our biggest excitement came in 2005 when Glenn Oaks Farmhand won his class at the Exhibition then 2 weeks later sold to Hardigreen Park for $68,000 then making him the 2nd highest priced Santa Gertrudis bull to be sold at auction in Australia.

3 years later Hardigreen Park sold 6 of his sons to top the annual Santa Central Sale with $27,500 average $16,656.

Other sale success includes:

  • GO Z77 - $20,000 to RS & NA Atkinson
  • GO B76 - $11,000 to Gralyn Stud
  • GO Braveheart - $37,500 to Warenda Stud
